Leonardo DiCaprio is truly leading the game as a businessman. It was just a few days ago when we heard of the Titanic actor signing a deal with the technology giant, Apple. Now, the reports of his latest first-look deal with Sony are flooding in.
The multi-year deal has been signed by Leonardo and Jennifer Davisson’s Appian and Sony Pictures Entertainment. It is learnt that the companies are already working on two big projects.
Speaking on the same, Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman said in a statement, “I first met the supernova talented Leonardo DiCaprio over 24 years ago on ‘Romeo and Juliet (while working for Fox’s film). We then shipped out together on the ‘Titanic’ and my admiration for him as a fully-rounded filmmaking genius has only increased over the many years since. His producing and acting instincts — superbly supported by Jennifer — are both driven by service to the best material in the world. At Sony, we feel like we just landed a rare GOAT deal — as Michael Jordan and Tom Brady are to basketball and football, so is Leo to film.”
