Aslam khan, younger brother of legendary actor Dilip Kumar passed away early morning in Lilavati Hospital. He was suffering from diabetes, hypertension and ischaemic heart disease. He was also tested positive of COVID-19.

Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu on Sunday had the brothers Aslam and Ehsan Khan admitted to the hospital after they tested coronavirus positive. Reportedly, Aslam and Ehsan were rushed to hospital after they complained of breathlessness. Their oxygen saturation had dropped below 80 per cent.

According to Hindustan Times, Dr Jalil Parker from Lilavati Hospital, who had treated the brothers, said, “They have been kept in ICU but we haven’t intubated them as yet. Considering their age and pre-condition health issues like diabetes and hypertension, we have to be extra careful while treating them.”

Even though doctors have been putting their full efforts, the brothers’ condition continued to be critical. The vital organs of the brothers were a concern for the doctors. They were observed under an invasive ventilator.

Aslam Khan was reportedly 88-years-old and his elder brother Ehsan Khan (90) is still in critical condition.

Earlier, veteran actor Dilip Kumar had written a poem on Twitter requesting fans to stay indoors and save lives from the coronavirus. The 97-year-old actor shared a four-line poem on Twitter urging everyone to follow the lockdown. The actor wrote, “Dawa bhi, dua bhi auron se faslaa bhi/ Ghareeb ki khidmat kamzor ki seva bhi”
