Janhvi Kapoor made a strong Bollywood debut with 2018 film Dhadak. The Hindi remake of cult Marathi film Sairat had a decent word of mouth but still managed to emerge a hit. Starring Ishaan Khatter along with Janhvi, the film scored 73.52 crores at Indian Box Office. Very good to start with.
Two years later, Janhvi Kapoor comes back with the biopic of one of the Kargil heroes, Gunjan Saxena. While there’s a curiosity to know about Gunjan Saxena, all eyes are on how Janhvi carries such a great character on her shoulders.
The trailer of the film released on August 1 and set the expectations high. While Janhvi Kapoor made a promise of good performance, there are other extremely talented actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Vineet Kumar Singh & Manav Vij who pack a punch. Pankaj enjoys a big fan following among youngsters these days thanks to his success on OTT. He is definitely one of the biggest factors which takes excitement for the film to a new level. To top the cake with icing, the film has been produced by Dharma Productions and come what may, Karan Johar will never make a film that is not high on emotions and doesn’t look visually appealing onscreen. After Raazi & Kesari, this is Dharma’s yet another attempt for patriotic films so expectations are genuinely high.

Gunjan Saxena Box Office Review: Impact
From the very first frame, Gunjan Saxena is a Dharma film. The film is set on a big scale, has a very heroic running entry shot of Janhvi Kapoor and everything that makes you want to look at the screen with the excitement of what’s coming up. But more than everything, it’s a beautiful story which has got beautiful treatment as well.
As the story plays out in front of you, as an audience you just feel how this one deserved to be released on big screens. Gunjan Saxena is not a film that you watch on TV, laptop or mobile screens but on the silver screen. Every frame of the film is filled with passion and speaks volumes to you. There are emotions, father-daughter love to cherish, patriotism and lots of important messages that hit the right chord of your heart. A few of the scenes will give you goosebumps and at the same time will make you proud of real Gunjan Saxena. Last 30 minutes are the soul of the film and you are going to absolutely love it.
Barring a few limitations and negligence of details, Gunjan Saxena is a very good film which the audience would’ve absolutely loved to see in theaters.
Gunjan Saxena Box Office Review: Final Verdict
Gunjan Saxena would’ve made a huge mark at the box office if it wasn’t about the pandemic and it was released in cinemas. While a 100 crores mark would’ve been a cakewalk for the film, it would’ve gone beyond considering the near Independence Day release.
